Not just another bank, Bank of Melbourne offers friendly service from locals who love Hampton.
Walk into Bank of Melbourne Hampton and the first things you will see are the smiling faces of the staff at the customer service desk. Or, take in the huge photos of local landmarks on the walls celebrating our suburb.
As Branch Manager Kurush Zaiwala explains, since opening over two years ago, the branch has well and truly embraced the Bank of Melbourne’s approach to providing personal recognition and super local service.
“Our branch is about people helping people with face to face service. We believe in putting our customers and communities at the heart of everything we do, and we make banking simple, smart and fun”.
“And unlike other banks, customers can call the branch directly with no diversions to distant call centres or voicemail.”
Kurush and his team are Bayside locals with many years’ experience in banking and business.
Kurush took over as Branch Manager 12 months ago and as a local himself has embraced the challenge of developing his staff and engaging the local community.
“Bank of Melbourne brings in people with wide ranging experience, who understand business and service, as well as banking. My background gives me a broader perspective on running the branch and meeting the needs of our customers.”
The local Hampton team also includes banking specialists such as a Senior Financial Planner, Relationship Manager and Business Banking Manager.
Technology to support people
State of the art technology helps make straightforward banking transactions easy but personal help is always close at hand.
The ATM is located inside the branch so the customer service team is nearby to assist if needed. And the Internet Banking kiosk including a portable iPad is handily located next to the front desk so help is only a smile away.
Local traders and clever savers can use the self-service coin machine to quickly count large amounts of change.
Business customers needing advice or time with a specialist from the “big end of town” can use the in-branch video-conference facilities to connect with Corporate Banking in Melbourne.
Most of the team at Bank of Melbourne Hampton live locally and are active members of the community with links to many groups and organisations.
Through the bank’s Neighbourhood Fund they provide community groups with access to funds to invest in innovative ideas and organisations.
The branch recently sponsored an Arts Festival for local bayside schools such as Hailybury, Brighton Grammar, Mentone Grammar and Kilbreda.
Kurush is also keen to work with other local clubs, schools and organisations to promote the Bank of Melbourne referral network which pays a percentage of new business from club members back to the referring organisation, which in turn helps the community.
