Expect an inundation of over 2,000 people to Hampton this Australia Day weekend as the Hampton Life Saving Club hosts the Annual Metro Regional Junior Championships.

Pop down to Hampton Beach (directly opposite Small St) and celebrate Australia Day in style at an iconic Aussie sporting event. The day will commence with the national anthem (and snags on the barbie) at 9am.

The Hampton Life Saving club is honoured to have been chosen to host this years regional life saving championships at Hampton beach. Talented competitors from the 10 metro bayside clubs will all battle to qualify their teams for the State Championships in March.

The Hampton Nippers would be delighted if you chose to attend and cheer them on as your local club at your local beach. Enjoy the spectacle of our future ironmen and women competing in events such as the surf swim, boards, beach relay, belt and reel, wade, and the popular 'Iron Nipper'.

The day will be a real carnival with BBQ, refreshments and face painting. When you've had enough of the sand and sea, you can always stroll up to Hampton Street for a lazy bite or nice latte. In order to avoid traffic and parking congestion local residents are asked to cycle or travel to the event by foot.
